ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has constituted a committee to draft transit and transshipment rules as part of the Gwadar Port development.
The rules will be framed in line with the government policy to create an investment and trade-friendly atmosphere in the country, according an official statement issued on Thursday.
The team, keeping in view the emergent China-Pakistan Economic Corridor trade and transit in general, drafted the rules in the shortest possible time. After vetting by the Law Division, these rules will be published for public and if any feedback is received, the same will be incorporated.
It may be added that the Gwadar Port has already been included in the Transit Rules framed under the Afghanistan Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement 2010.
According to the FBR, PM Imran Khan has put special emphasis on the development of Balochistan. A dedicated body titled National Development Council (NDC) has been created to help uplift Balochistan.
